Re-thinking of how a typical food distribution center works, and merging it with the Farm-To-Table concept, (food is grown locally within a 100mi radius,) is what Symbiotic Farming proposes. Food is grown on site through an Aquaponic system, which minimizes the amount of damage caused to the environment. The proposed location is over the LA River bordered by Boyle Heights and Downtown LA. Currently, the site is a light industrial zone, where nobody wants to spend time. Aside from growing food the project is meant to revitalize the site by generating spaces where people would be educated to on how easy growing food is, as well as leisure spaces.
